Organising Authority
The Regatta is organised by the Phuket Yacht Club (PYC)
1. Rules
1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing and by:

1.3. This Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions
1.4. In case of conflict, the Sailing Instructions will prevail (this changes RRS Rule 63.7).
2. Eligibility and Entry
2.1. The Regatta is open to O’pen Skiff sailing dinghies both privately owned or as
supplied by the class representative.
2.3. The Race Committee may change the above eligibility factors and race format
based on its analysis and entries received.
2.4. Application for entry shall be made on the official Entry Form, which will be available
from the PYC Sailing School Office.

The following is the proposed schedule of events / racing: Up to 6 races per day are scheduled.
• Saturday December 18th

09:15 Skippers briefing
10:25 First warning signal
10:30 Start race #1

4. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration.
5. Courses
5.1. Racing will take place in or in the environs of Ao Chalong Bay
5.2. Courses will be Windward / Leeward or reaching courses of approximately 20 minutes
in length taking into account prevailing or forecast wind conditions. Course
diagrams will be provided with the Sailing Instructions.
6. Penalty System
6.1. Rule 44.1 is changed so that the Two-Turns Penalty is replaced by the One-Turn Penalty.
6.2. There is no provision for protests and umpires decision will be final.
RRS Appendix A 4.1 Low point scoring system will apply.
X 1.5 points will be awarded for Adventure and Freestyle events.
If 5 or more races are completed a competitors worst race score will discarded.
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor
receive radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile
telephones. Radio communications will be via channel 72.
Will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers.
Boats shall be liable for inspection in accordance with applicable safety and
measurement requirements.
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage, personal injury or
death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
